Council Participation Registry

The Council Participation Registry provides a public record of Council members’ attendance and participation during Council and Committee of the Whole or Standing Committee meetings. It offers residents a clear way to see the activity at public meetings.

What the Registry records

The registry includes:

  • Attendance at Council and Committee of the Whole or Standing Committee meetings.

  • Under the Town's Procedure By-law, members of Council can provide the following rationale for their absence or remote participation:

    • Business reasons: When you have duties because Council appointed you to a role or because you were elected to do them.

    • Health and safety reasons: When bad weather or an official emergency makes it unsafe to attend.

    • Personal reasons: Any other reason that isn't business-related or health and safety-related, such as being sick, taking vacation, or handling personal matters.

How information is posted
Town staff document participation at each meeting. Afterward, the updated registry is made available for the public to view.
