Rehabilitation Master Plan

A Rehabilitation Master Plan (RMP) guides how a site where aggregate (sand, gravel, stone) extraction has ended will be restored and repurposed for new uses such as recreation or conservation.

2026 RMP

The 2026 RMP was approved by Council on June 23, 2026. It provides visually focused guidance for potential post-extraction uses while allowing applicants to submit alternative proposals. The mineral aggregate resource areas covered by the 2026 RMP are identified as: Alton West, Mono Mills, The Grange, Inglewood, Orangeville, Melville, Caledon East/Centreville, and Humber.

2021 RMP

In 2021, the Town completed an RMP for the Belfountain and Caledon sand and gravel resource areas. It served as the model for the 2026 RMP, which covers the remaining mineral aggregate resource areas.

High Potential Mineral Aggregate Resources Areas

The map below provides an overview of the 2021 RMP and the 2026 RMP study areas, and the high potential mineral aggregate resource areas identified in OPA 1 (Mineral Aggregate Resources) to the Future Caledon Official Plan.
