The Town of Caledon is happy to help you with any accessibility needs. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive community that is in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and our Accessibility Policy.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

The Accessibility Advisory Committee is responsible for raising community awareness surrounding persons with disabilities and provides advice and recommendations to Council on ensuring a barrier free Community. The Committee focuses on the review of site plans, playgrounds and community parks, pursuant to the standards as outlined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). 

Accessibility Plan

The Town's Accessibility Plan helps identify, remove and prevent accessibility barriers. We update the Plan every four years.

Annual Reporting

We report yearly on activities we took to remove barriers and improve accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Accessibility Training

This training includes:

  • The purpose of the AODA;
  • Requirements of the Customer Service Standard;
  • How to interact with people with various disabilities;
  • Our Accessibility Policy, Accessible Customer Service Procedure, and practices;
  • How to identify different types of barriers; and
  • Sensitivity awareness when serving customers.

You can request a document in an alternative format such as large print or with ASL interpretation.

We also have assistive listening devices in the Council Chambers available for your use.
