Accessibility Advisory Committee

The Accessibility Advisory Committee works with Council to remove barriers to accessibility throughout Town. We ensure that the accessibility standards outlined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) are followed. This includes raising community awareness.


The committee consists of five members and one Councillor.

Roles and responsibilities

We follow the roles and responsibilities provided in the Accessibility Advisory Committee Terms of Reference. This includes:

  • Informing council about new legislation and funding initiatives
  • Advising council on accessibility barriers
  • Developing relationships with relevant groups and individuals
  • Reviewing the Accessibility Plan
