File Search Request

The Town of Caledon provides residents and business owners with the ability to request a File Search Letter online. Applicants must complete all required fields in the online form and upload the necessary supporting documentation.  

Application Fee  

  • The fee for a File Search Request is $97.42 plus HST, as per the Town of Caledon Fees By-Law. 
  • Fees are charged per municipal address. 
  • Fire Services will contact you to arrange payment after request is submitted. 

To obtain a File Search Letter, you must provide the following: 

  • Property address of the request 
  • Request Letter 
  • Authorization for Release letter signed by the property owner. Click here to download the Authorization for Release letter.
    • If you are unable to obtain an Authorization for Release letter, you may upload a copy of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale, ensuring Section 10 – Title Search, has been signed by the current owner.
  • Alternative documentation (if applicable)

A File Search Request does not include an inspection and is not a request for an inspection. If you have any questions regarding a File Search Request, please email fire@caledon.ca.

Please allow for 5 business days to complete the File Search Request after payment has been received.
