CALEDON, ON (January 27, 2026) – The Town of Caledon unveiled a commemorative plaque today recognizing the service and legacy of No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada’s largest Black military unit. The plaque also honours Caledon resident Thomas Bush, a member of the Battalion who died during the First World War. This plaque was made possible through the generous support of Veterans Affairs Canada.

Expression of Interest - Food Vendors for Café Love Local Days

The Town of Caledon is inviting local food vendors to share its cafeteria space at Town Hall (6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East) as part of a new initiative to support businesses and showcase local flavours.  

Café Love Local Days will be scheduled once a month, or during special event days throughout the year, and welcome vendors offering a variety of food and beverage options, including but not limited to: 

  • Freshly prepared meals and snacks 

  • Baked goods and confectionary 

  • Artisan and specialty foods
