Town of Caledon gets action on traffic safety concerns

CALEDON, ON (July 11, 2025) – Peel Regional Council unanimously approved two motions to improve traffic safety on regional roads in Caledon. They also received a community petition from the resident-led Caledon Community Road Safety Advocacy Group (CCRSA) to accelerate planned improvements on Highway 50 and Coleraine Road south of Caledon.

Construction Notice: Old Ellwood Drive Culvert Repair – Temporary and Permanent Work Planned

A temporary lane closure of Old Ellwood Drive, just east of Coleraine Drive, is required for culvert repairs after a washout compromised the road’s surface.
Temporary Repair WorkTemporary repair work will take place Friday, July 11, to improve access and reopen the road safely in the short term, while the permanent repair design is finalized.

The Town of Caledon is pleased to announce the reopening of the improved Caledon East Leash-Free Dog Park, located at 6125 Old Church Road.

Town of Caledon issues statement regarding former gravel pit at 0 Shaw Creek Road

In May this year, the Town of Caledon committed to a transparent public process on permit to allow the infill of the former gravel pit at 0 Shaw Creek Road. Today, that commitment remains unchanged.
“We recognize the importance of this issue to our residents,” said Mayor Annette Groves, Town of Caledon. “I want to be clear: a staff report will be coming back to council once the engineering studies have been undertaken and reviewed by the Town.”
