Diwali Drone Show

In April 2024, the Town of Caledon was awarded the prestigious Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Award by Parks and Recreation Ontario for our ground-breaking Diwali Drone Show. The drone show embodies the spirit of inclusion, education, and community engagement. It is also a great example of innovation and responding to the needs of our community, while also adhering to our fireworks bylaw regulations.

The success of the Diwali Drone Show underscores the importance of expanding community events programs, a central pillar of our upcoming Parks and Recreation Strategy. By listening to residents, embracing innovation, and fostering collaboration, we continue to enhance the quality of life for all Caledon residents.

In October 2024, the Town of Caledon was awarded an Honourable Mention by the Creative City Network of Canada (CCNC). The Town was recognized for this innovative event that provided an environmentally friendly and inclusive celebration of Diwali, fostering cultural awareness and community unity.
