The Town of Caledon currently offers two options for additional/temporary parking:

About Caledon's Temporary Parking Pass

You can apply for a temporary parking pass in Caledon if you:

  • Need to park on a road for longer than three hours 
  • Need to park on the road overnight (between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.)
  • Are improving your driveway and cannot park there, 
  • Are impacted by construction projects undertaken by the Town or the Region, or
  • Need to park in a Town parking lot* between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

  • Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness;
  • Caledon East Community Complex;
  • Caledon Village Place;
  • Cheltenham Community Hall;
  • Inglewood Community Centre;
  • Lloyd Wilson Community Centre;
  • Margaret Dunn Library;
  • Mayfield Recreation Centre;
  • The Municipal parking lot in Bolton;
  • Palgrave Community Centre;
  • Rotary Place;
  • Southfields Community Centre;
  • Victoria Parks Community Centre; and
  • Town Hall.         

If you have a pass, you still have to obey all other parking regulations as set out in our Traffic By-law.

Terms and Conditions
  • Each vehicle can have up to 16 temporary parking passes per year.
  • Each vehicle can have an additional seven temporary parking passes per year for driveway improvements or if construction projects undertaken by the Town and/or the Region obstruct a driveway.
  • Parking passes are not issued for heavy truck vehicles, derelict vehicles, unlicensed vehicles or immobile trailers.
  • If you have a parking pass you must still obey any other parking regulations as set out in the Town's Traffic By-law (e.g. parking in a no parking area or in a fire route).
  • A parking pass is not valid during a winter weather event when snow-clearing operations may take place.
  • The Town is not responsible for loss or damage to vehicles parked on a Town road allowance or in a Town-owned lot, however caused.
  • This pass does not guarantee a parking space will be available.
  • Any pass that is altered may be deemed invalid.

Southfields Village Parking Permit Pilot Program

Beginning on February 2, 2026, the Town is launching the Southfields Village Parking Permit Pilot Program. This pilot program will run for one year, and offers residents legal, flexible parking options while addressing ongoing challenges such as overnight infractions, blocked sidewalks, and pressure on winter operations.

This program responds directly to resident concerns about parking supply, safety, and fairness, with the goal to reduce infractions and improve access while ensuring clear, safe streets for everyone.

Permit Options & Fees
  • $70 per month
  • $350 for six months
  • $700 for one year

Each household may purchase one permit, linked to their address. Permits allow parking in designated areas beyond the 3-hour limit, including overnight (2 a.m. – 6 a.m.), except during winter operations.

Winter Operations
  • On-street parking is not allowed during snow clearing/plowing, even with a permit.
  • Vehicles left on-street during plowing may be ticketed or towed.

  • Vehicle information (licence plate and ownership)

Terms and Conditions

By applying for, receiving, or using an on-street parking permit under the Southfields Village Parking Permit Pilot Program, the permit holder agrees to comply with the following terms and conditions.

General Conditions
  • Parking permits are non-transferable and may only be used by the vehicle to which they are assigned.
  • Only one (1) parking permit is permitted per eligible address.
  • The parking permit is valid on Town-owned roads only and does not apply to private roads or private property.
  • This parking permit does not guarantee that a parking space will be available at any time.
  • No refunds will be issued for any reason, including permit revocation, suspension, or program changes.
Compliance with By-laws and Regulations
  • The permit holder must comply at all times with the Town’s Traffic By-law and all other applicable laws.
  • A parking permit does not exempt a vehicle from compliance with posted signage, temporary restrictions, or traffic control devices.
  • The permit does not authorize parking in prohibited areas, including but not limited to fire routes, no-parking or no-stopping zones, or during temporary restrictions related to snow clearing, construction, emergencies, or special events.
  • Vehicles parked in violation of the Traffic By-law or these terms and conditions may be ticketed, towed, or otherwise enforced, notwithstanding the issuance of a permit.
Vehicle Eligibility and Condition
  • Parking permits are not issued for heavy vehicles, heavy trucks, derelict vehicles, unlicensed vehicles, immobile trailers, or abandoned vehicles.
  • All vehicles must be operable, roadworthy, licensed, and insured at all times.
  • The permit does not authorize the parking or storage of vehicles for the purpose of sale, repair, servicing, or long-term storage.
Permit Use and Administration
  • The permit must be registered in the manner prescribed by the Town.
  • Lost, damaged, or stolen permits may be replaced at the Town’s discretion and may be subject to an administrative fee.
  • The permit holder is responsible for ensuring that all information provided to the Town is accurate and up to date.
Revocation and Enforcement
  • The Town may revoke, suspend, or cancel a parking permit at any time due to non-compliance with the Traffic By-law, these terms and conditions, or based on false, misleading, or inaccurate information provided by the applicant.
  • The Town may require verification of eligibility at any time.
  • Decisions regarding the issuance, suspension, or revocation of a permit are at the Town’s discretion.
Pilot Program Disclaimer
  • This parking permit is issued as part of a pilot program.
  • The Town reserves the right to amend, modify, suspend, or discontinue the pilot program, permit eligibility, permitted locations, or these terms and conditions at any time, without notice or compensation.
  • Participation in the pilot program does not create a vested right or entitlement to continued parking privileges beyond the pilot period.
Liability
  • Vehicles are parked on Town road allowances at the owner’s risk.
  • The Town is not responsible for loss, damage, theft, or vandalism to any vehicle parked on a Town road allowance or in a Town-owned parking area, however caused.
  • By using the permit, the permit holder assumes all risks associated with on-street parking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can get a permit? 

Each household in Southfields Village may apply for one on-street permit linked to their address.

Where can I park with my permit?

Permit parking will be available at all street parking spots where parking is permitted under the Town’s traffic by-law.

Permits do not override no-parking zones or parking regulations as set out in our Traffic By-law

Does the permit allow overnight parking?

Yes, permits allow overnight parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., except during winter operations.

What about winter plowing?

For safety, on-street parking is not allowed during snow clearing or salting operations — even with a permit.

How long will the pilot program run?

The pilot program will run for one year, starting February 2, 2026.

Staff will report results of the program to Council in the first quarter of 2027.

What happens after the one-year pilot?

Staff will report back to Council with results and recommendations, which may include program adjustments or expansion.

Can residents purchase additional permits for their residence?

No, each address is only permitted one permit. However, each vehicle is still eligible to apply for a temporary parking pass for up to 16 days per year.

Can residents share permits between different properties or different vehicles?

No, the permit is associated to a specific license plate and a specific address.

Can I also apply for/use a Temporary Parking Pass even if I have a Parking Permit?

Yes. Each vehicle may still use a temporary parking pass up to 16 days per year, in addition to the purchased parking permits.
