Town of Caledon celebrating Veterans by offering free recreation memberships

June 30, 2026 (CALEDON, ON) – With the arrival of Canada Day tomorrow, the Town of Caledon is proud to recognize the service and sacrifice of Canadian Armed Forces veterans by introducing free Caledon Recreation memberships for eligible veterans who call Caledon home.

Beginning on July 2, veterans can register in person at any Town recreation centre by presenting proof of veteran status, such as a Veteran's Service Card, along with proof of Caledon residency (driver's licence preferred). Eligible residents will receive a free All Access Annual Membership, providing unlimited access to recreation facilities, amenities, and drop-in programs throughout the year.

Proof of Veteran Status (one required):

  • Veteran’s Service Card (NDI 75)
  • Certificate of Service issued upon release from service
  • Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Benefit Card
  • Discharge Certificate from any branch of the Canadian Military
  • Statement of Service from any branch of the Canadian Military

"Supporting the health and well-being of our community is a key priority of Council and an important part of our vision for a vibrant and livable Caledon," said Mayor Annette Groves. "Following the successful launch of free recreation memberships for residents aged 65 and older, we're proud to extend this commitment to our local veterans. It's a meaningful way to recognize their service while helping them stay active, connected, and engaged in our community."

Registration must take place in person at any Town recreation centre, and existing members who qualify may request a prorated adjustment or a refund on the remaining portion of their active membership.
