You are invited to provide your input at a statutory Public Meeting about a proposed Town-initiated official plan amendment to implement the provincially designated Highway 413 and Northwest GTA Transmission Corridor in the Town’s official plan documents.

How to Participate
The Town of Caledon offers a hybrid meeting model with multiple ways for members of the public to participate and engage with Council.

| Members of the public may attend the meeting in-person and provide verbal comments regarding the proposed applications or sit in the gallery to watch the meeting. Although registration is not mandatory, members of the public are encouraged to complete the Participation Request Form, available at www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council. Please be advised that the venue holding this Public Meeting does have a maximum capacity and in-person attendees will be limited to that capacity. |

Location
The proposed official plan amendment applies to all lands subject to the existing and proposed designations for the highway and transmission corridor, as shown on the map above.
Proposed Changes
The purpose of this Town-initiated Official Plan Amendment (OPA) is to update policies and mapping to implement the provincially designated Highway 413 and Northwest GTA Transmission Corridor in the Future Caledon Official Plan, 1978 Town of Caledon Official Plan and Region of Peel Official Plan.
The proposed OPA would:
- modify all relevant official plan mapping to be consistent with the provincial designation of Highway 413 under the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act, including the most current Controlled Access Highway Designation (2025) and the Northwest GTA Transmission Corridor Narrowed Area of Interest (2025);
- adjust the Urban Area boundary to maintain alignment with the Highway 413 and the Northwest GTA Transmission Corridor, which will result in a net reduction to the Urban Area; and
- update relevant policy references to reflect the mapping changes.

| Appeal Procedure |

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Caledon to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the proposed official plan amendment/by-law is adopted/passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the proposed official plan amendment/by-law is adopted/passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so. |
