Caledon Fire demonstrates life-saving impact of residential sprinklers
CALEDON, ON (October 09, 2025) – Today, Caledon Fire & Emergency Services showcased the life-saving power of residential fire sprinklers with a live burn cell demonstration at Fire Station 309. The event highlighted how quickly fire can spread in a home and how sprinklers can dramatically reduce risk, protect families, and save lives.
“Caledon is growing rapidly, and with that growth comes increased pressure on fire services,” said Caledon Fire Chief Dave Pelayo. “Residential sprinklers are a proven technology that can give residents time to escape. They are one of the smartest safety investments we can make in our community.”
Caledon Fire is advocating for the inclusion of sprinkler systems in all new residential builds, aligning with national fire safety best practices. Incorporating this technology into Caledon’s growth strategy would:
- Increase community resilience and fire safety.
- Reduce the demand for immediate full-scale suppression response.
- Support compliance with NFPA standards in a growing municipality.
- Minimize property damage compared to traditional suppression methods.
By championing the adoption of residential sprinkler systems, Caledon continues to demonstrate leadership in public safety innovation and proactive community planning.
