Caledon Fire and Emergency Services recruiting volunteer firefighters
CALEDON, ON (January 19, 2026) – Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is launching its annual recruitment campaign to hire volunteer firefighters – dedicated community members who respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls, including fires, medical incidents, vehicle collisions and more.
Volunteer firefighters play a vital role in keeping Caledon safe. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold a valid G-class driver’s licence
- Reside within 10 kilometres of a Caledon Fire Station
- Attend one of the mandatory information sessions below
Mandatory Information Sessions
- Session 1: Southfields Community Centre. Tuesday, January 27 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Session 2: Caledon East Community Complex Banquet Halls A & B. Saturday, February 21 from 9 – 11 a.m.
- Session 3: Albion Bolton Community Centre Auditorium. Thursday, March 12 from 7 – 9 p.m.
“We’re looking for residents who want to make a difference in their community,” said Fire Chief Dave Pelayo. “You don’t need to work in emergency services to be a firefighter - our volunteers come from all walks of life. These positions are compensated and every call you respond to helps protect your neighbours, friends and family.”
