2025 Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament raises record funds for local seniors
CALEDON, ON (September 16, 2025) – Thanks to the generosity and support of local sponsors and participants, this year’s 2025 Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament (CCCGT) held at the Caledon Country Club surpassed the funds raised in previous years.
“This tournament is helping improve the lives of others by funding programs and services that may not otherwise be possible,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors especially Caledon Country Club who made this year’s event such a success.”
This year, the Caledon Seniors Centre was selected as the primary grant recipient and will receive $75,000 to install a new sound and audiovisual system in the original wing of Rotary Place, the Centre’s main location in Bolton. This upgrade will enhance programming and accessibility for older adults in the community.
“I am humbled to have served as Chair this year for the 2025 CCCGT. It was inspiring to see the generosity of our community partners. Through their contributions and funds raised, our Council has the ability and resources to fund so many of our amazing local groups and organizations. This makes so many dreams and initiatives become a reality,” said Chair Mario Russo, Regional Councillor for Wards 4, 5 & 6.
The Caledon Seniors Centre offers a wide range of programs at Rotary Place and six satellite locations across the Town of Caledon, with most activities run by volunteers. This funding marks a key milestone in the Centre’s ongoing commitment to creating welcoming, accessible spaces for older adults.
The Town thanks Tournament Chair Mario Russo, Regional Councillor for Wards 4, 5 & 6, and Vice Chair Cosimo Napoli, Councillor for Ward 6, for their leadership and coordination. Appreciation is also extended to the Caledon Country Club for hosting the tournament and helping reduce overhead costs, allowing more of the proceeds to go directly to community initiatives.
“I was truly honored to serve as Vice Chair of this year’s golf tournament. It was inspiring to see our community come together in support of such meaningful organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives,” said Vice Chair Cosimo Napoli, Councillor for Ward 6.
