Notice of Commencement: Multi-Modal Transportation Master Plan

The Town of Caledon has initiated a Multi-Modal Transportation Master Plan (MMTMP) for the municipality. Consistent with the Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process, the first Public Information Centre is being held to inform the public about the steps involved in this work and to gather feedback on the alternative solutions being considered.

Caledon Lifts Significant Weather Event

March 2, 2021 - The Town of Caledon has lifted the significant weather event declaration effective 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021. This is in respect to blizzard conditions of winds of 40 km/h expected to cause widespread reductions in visibility to 400 metres or less due to blowing snow, or blowing snow in combination with falling snow for at least 4 hours, 

Everyone is reminded that even when there is no warning or event in place, to please still use caution when using roads and sidewalks.

Caledon Declares Significant Weather Event

March 1, 2021  -  The Town of Caledon is declaring a Significant Weather Event to take effect immediately. 

This is due to an Environment Canada forecast of: winds of 40 km/h, expected to cause widespread reductions in visibility to 400 metres or less due to blowing snow, or blowing snow in combination with falling snow for at least 4 hours.

If you have to travel, please drive to conditions and be very careful walking on sidewalks.

Caledon requests further study of GTA West corridor

February 25, 2021 -- Faced with the prospect of a projected population increase from 75,000 now to 300,000 in 2051 and a rural/village  transportation network that is being overwhelmed with commercial and commuter traffic within the GTA, the Town of Caledon is calling on the province to ensure the future includes a responsible and sustainable transportation corridor.
