Town of Caledon welcomes inaugural cohort to Humber River Centre incubator program
CALEDON, ON (September 18, 2025) – The Town of Caledon is proud to mark the commencement of the Humber River Centre Incubator Program, powered by DMZ, and welcome the first 15 local entrepreneurs who will be shaping the future of business in our community.
The program kicked off September 17, bringing together 15 founders representing industries such as tech, retail, wellness, and creative fields, as well as service sectors including manufacturing and cosmetics – and more. During the opening session, participants took part in various workshops and goal-setting exercises designed to align their business strategies with program objectives – setting the stage for the months ahead.
The incubator program, delivered in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University’s DMZ – one of the world’s top-ranked university-based incubators – gives participants access to globally recognized expertise while staying rooted locally. Programming will cover topics such as design thinking, marketing, sales, user experience, and pitching, equipping founders with the skills and confidence to scale their businesses.
“Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in advancing innovation in Caledon,” said CAO Nathan Hyde. “This inaugural cohort reflects the bold thinking and ambition that define our community. Supporting local business growth is not just an economic priority – it’s a key part of building a resilient, future-ready Caledon. We are committed to ensuring these ventures thrive, create jobs, and continue to see Caledon as the place to grow and invest.”
Over the course of the program, the cohort will engage in a structured series of master classes, mentorship sessions, and networking opportunities. This hands-on support is designed to accelerate their growth while strengthening Caledon’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“These entrepreneurs reflect the diversity and potential of Caledon’s business community,” said Eric Lucic, Commissioner of Planning and Development. “By investing in their journey, we are driving innovation, job creation, and long-term economic growth in Caledon.”
