Town of Caledon appoints new CIO to lead digital innovation and service excellence
CALEDON, ON (August 11, 2026) – The Town of Caledon is pleased to announce the appointment of Gino Alborino as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, Gino will lead the Town's Information Technology, Communications and Customer Experience divisions, advancing digital transformation that enhances municipal services, strengthens organizational capabilities and improves the experience of residents and businesses.

"Gino brings an exceptional combination of strategic vision, innovation and operational excellence. His extensive experience leading digital transformation and modernizing public services will help the Town to better serve our growing community while enhancing the services residents rely on every day. We are excited to welcome him to our leadership team."
Throughout his career, Gino has built a reputation for leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives, modernizing service delivery, and developing high-performing teams. His collaborative leadership style focuses on using technology to simplify processes, improve customer experiences, and enable better decision-making across organizations. He is known for building strong partnerships across departments to deliver practical, resident-focused outcomes.
Prior to joining the Town, Gino served as Director of Digital Services and Data Management at Halton Region, where he led enterprise digital transformation initiatives that modernized resident services, strengthened data-informed decision-making and improved operational efficiency across one of Ontario's largest regional municipalities.

Gino brings nearly three decades of municipal leadership experience in technology, digital transformation, and customer service. He holds an Executive MBA in Digital Transformation from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology Management from Toronto Metropolitan University and is currently completing the Chartered Director Program through McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business.
His leadership has been recognized nationally through the IT World Canada Digital Disruptor Award, the MISA Canada Excellence in Municipal Systems Award and appointments as a judge for Gartner's Eye on Innovation for Government Awards.
Gino will join the Town on August 17, 2026, as part of the Town's continued commitment to delivering innovative, responsive, and customer-focused municipal services.
