The Town of Caledon is excited to announce Jeff Chase as Director of Policy and Strategic Planning

CALEDON, ON (April 8, 2025) – The Town of Caledon announces the appointment of Jeff Chase as the Director of Policy and Strategic Planning effective April 28, 2025. 

With extensive experience leading large, diverse teams and impactful, multi-year planning policy initiatives such as the 10-year Economic Action Plan for Edmonton and Calgary’s Housing Strategy, Jeff excels at navigating complex environments to achieve tangible results. He has spent the last decade in Alberta, working for both the City of Calgary and the City of Edmonton.  

As a Registered Professional Planner (RPP), Jeff has a strong analytical foundation to his work, focusing on measurable outcomes.

His experience spans major change and growth management efforts, land development processes, developing and executing granting programs, managing capital and operating budgets, and collaborating with colleagues, elected officials, community groups, and governance boards to optimize community outcomes.

“Jeff is an accomplished planning leader with a record of advancing strategic change and policy innovation, and expertise in urban planning, economic development, strategy, and community development,” says Eric Lucic, Commissioner of Planning and Development, Town of Caledon. “These assets are valuable as we work towards an ambitious plan to build housing and that will not only grow the supply of housing in Caledon but will also help to alleviate housing pressures in the region.” 

As Director of Policy and Strategic Planning, Jeff will oversee the Town’s long-term planning strategy including Future Caledon, the Town’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law review and the Town’s work on the Federal Housing Accelerator Fund. Jeff's team will include Policy, Heritage and the Planning GIS teams.
