Public Notice: Study Commencement and Public Consultation Centre - Addendum to the MMTMP

The Town of Caledon (Town)’s Multi-Modal Transportation Master Plan (MMTMP) was completed in June 2024. The MMTMP expands upon Provincial, Regional and Town plans and initiatives to address mobility needs to 2051, which is consistent with the Future Caledon Official Plan. The MMTMP is a long-term strategy that guides the planning, policy, and infrastructure needs of the Town’s multi-modal transportation system to accommodate future growth and development.

An Addendum to the MMTMP (the Study) is being undertaken to further refine the transportation network within the Settlement Area Boundary Expansion (SABE) lands. The study area is bounded by Coleraine Drive, Mayfield Road, Mississauga Road, and Old School Road comprising approximately 62 square kilometres of rural and urban residential land.

STUDY PROCESS
The Study is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2023), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The MMTMP follows Master Plan Approach #1 under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process which is a broad level assessment requiring more detailed investigations at the project-specific level to fulfill MCEA requirements.

While the MMTMP identified a conceptual collector road network within the study area, this Addendum seeks to identify a preferred collector road network and alignment with a focus on improving east-west connectivity by considering alternative solutions and seeking feedback from the public and stakeholders.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
An Open House will be held to introduce the Study and gather feedback from members of the public. Your input and insight will inform and shape plans that meet the needs of our community.

  • Open House Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Presentation: 6:30 p.m.
  • Location: Southfields Community Centre (225 Dougall Avenue, Caledon)
