Public Notice - Proposed Street Name Change

A Council Meeting will be held to consider a proposed street name change of identified portions for Beech Grove Sideroad east of Main Street. Your input and insight will inform and shape plans that meet the needs of our community.

Meeting Location: Council Chambers, 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East

Proposed Changes

The identified section of Beech Grove Sideroad east of Main Street is proposed to be renamed ‘Golf Canada Drive’. The name ‘Golf Canada Drive’ was approved for use in Caledon by the Region of Peel Street Names Committee on May 9, 2026. 

The section of street proposed for renaming was identified as a potential location for the following reasons:

  • Reflects local geographic context, given its location within and adjacent to established golf course lands;
  • Enhances wayfinding and visibility, particularly at the first bend in the roadway, supporting both drivers and emergency response services; and,
  • Commemorate Golf Canada, a non-profit organization with notable contributions to the local community.

The recommendation for the proposed Street renaming has been made in accordance with the requirements of the Town of Caledon’s Corporate Policy on Street Naming and Appendix 5 of the Town of Caledon’s Street Naming Procedure.
