NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION

 Humber River Oxbow - Flap Gates Installation Works

Through contract RFT 2025-019, storm sewer improvement works will be completed on sections of Albert Street and James Street, Bolton.

The Town of Caledon (Town), Engineering Public Works & Transportation Department has completed a design relating to flood mitigation along the Humber River oxbow that is adjacent to both James Street and Albert Street, Bolton. The next step related to this design is for the installation of inline flap gates for storm sewers that outlet to the oxbow (sewers located on both James Street and Albert Street). This is in effort to ensure that as the water levels rise in the river, that the river water does not enter our storm sewer system. 

No road closures will be required to complete these works, however; increased construction traffic is anticipated.

The work is expected to commence:

Anticipated Commencement Date: August 24, 2026

Anticipated Completion Date: September 11, 2026
