Caledon to implement Administrative Monetary Penalty System

CALEDON, ON (October 14, 2025) – The Town of Caledon is launching the Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) on November 1, 2025, to make managing certain municipal offences easier, faster, and more efficient.

At launch, AMPS will apply to parking infractions and Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE), with additional bylaws to be incorporated in future phases of the program. This change means that instead of going through the provincial courts, residents can now manage penalty notices and penalty orders directly with the Town – saving time and alleviating strain on our court systems.

“AMPS represents a major step forward in digital innovation and service delivery,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “By providing residents with user-friendly online tools, we’re making it simpler and faster for people to deal with penalty orders and penalty notices. This is about evolving our services and delivering the kind of service excellence Caledon is proud of.”

Benefits of AMPS:

  • Simplified process – No need to navigate the provincial court system for violations.
  • Reduced wait times – Most matters are resolved within weeks.
  • Digital service delivery – Conveniently manage your penalty notice or penalty order online.

“Through AMPS, we are delivering services in a way that truly meets community needs,” said CAO Nathan Hyde. “It’s about efficiency, fairness, and clarity. By using technology to modernize enforcement, we are giving residents quicker resolutions, more transparency, and a process that is easier to navigate.”
