Caledon inspires local students with Youth Education Day
CALEDON, ON (February 26, 2025) – Grade 10 students from Caledon high schools got a firsthand look at real-world career pathways at the Town’s Youth Education Day on February 25, 2026. Hosted at the award-winning Humber River Centre, in partnership with Deschool Online Inc., the event affirmed the Town’s commitment to connecting students with real-world learning opportunities and local job prospects.
Students enjoyed expert presentations and gained insights into careers across medical technology, skilled trades, entrepreneurship, and more. Workshops included:
- Medical STEM & Technology: Designing health-tech and emergency response solutions.
- Skilled Trades & Construction: Participating in design-build challenges.
- Entrepreneurship & Innovation: Exploring startup thinking and business ideation exercises.
“This initiative showed students how their education connects to real careers right here in our community,” said Eric Lucic, Commissioner of Planning and Development. “Caledon is home to thriving industries and cutting-edge innovation which drives economic growth and empowers the next generation of local leaders."
The event advances the Town’s broader workforce development and talent pipeline goals, helping students understand the opportunities available within Caledon as they prepare for the future.
