Bird flu confirmed at storm water ponds in Bolton and Southfields Village

(January 24, 2025) CALEDON, ON – Caledon’s Municipal Law Enforcement division confirms that there is an outbreak of Avian Influenza (bird flu) at the storm water ponds in Bolton and Southfields Village. Reports from the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative (CWHC) indicate that the Avian Influenza is from dead geese found near the ponds. There is no transmission to humans reported so far.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Caledon will hold a Public Meeting on February 18, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at the 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East, ON.
