June 21, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – The spongy moth outbreak that peaked in 2021 has declined significantly this year. The spongy moth is still present in some regions of Ontario, however outbreak areas and severity will continue to decline in 2023.
It’s important to turn our focus to other invasive forest pest species that could impact our region in the near future.

CALEDON, ON (June 20, 2023) – Today, Mayor and Council acknowledged Carol Seglins as the 2023 Senior of the Year at Council.
This award recognizes an outstanding senior who, after age 65, enriches the social, cultural or civic life of the community.
“I extend my sincerest congratulations to Carol on this recognition,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “It is active and involved members in the community, like Carol, that make Caledon a great place to work, live and play.”

Town of Caledon lifts Open Air Fire Ban

June 12, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – Effective immediately, the Town of Caledon has lifted the open air fire ban that was declared on Friday, June 2, 2023. As a result, all agricultural, open air and recreational fires are allowed in Caledon, as defined in By-law 2016-092 - Open Air, Recreational and Agricultural, with the proper burn permit.
The current Fire Hazard Rating is set to “Low”.
