On Thursday, July 18, 2024, Global News released a story on the strong mayors in Peel that included statements from Ward 2 Councillor Dave Sheen that were incorrectly stated as facts.
The Town of Caledon has a duty to provide accurate information and correct the record if needed. We also have a duty to protect the reputation of the Town, and staff, present and past. This duty is heightened when someone from the Town misrepresents the facts.

July 9, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – At the General Committee Meeting on Tuesday, July 9, Mayor Annette Groves brought forward a motion calling on the Government of Ontario and local MPPs to work with the Town to address the provincial underfunding of municipal and social services. June 26, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – At the Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Council approved the rezoning of 11 of 12 development applications to provide nearly 35,000 housing units in Caledon as it prepares to grow to 300,000 residents by 2051.
