The Great Trail Celebrations – Caledon Beginnings

The Trans Canada Trail (TCT), with support from Canadian Heritage, is connecting The Great Trail and the country for a grand celebration on August 26, 2017. Communities across Canada will be celebrating the full connection of The Great Trail and Canada’s 150th on the same date.
“Caledon is known for our beautiful and expansive natural features,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “The Trans Canada Trail is a treasured part of our trail network that connects our communities to the rest of Canada.”

CCS Life for Youth program receives $1.5 million grant

On July 24, Rodger Cuzner, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour announced that the federal government will provide Caledon Community Services (CCS) Life For Youth program with $1.5 million in funding. Read the article

Town of Caledon and Region of Peel partner to retrofit LED streetlights

The Town of Caledon is expanding its streetlight retrofit program to upgrade 600 more light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on regional roads this summer. The new cobra-head style streetlights will help save even more energy, reduce costs and lessen the environmental impact.
This expansion builds on the 2015 LED streetlight retrofit program when the Town retrofitted 1,500 streetlights. During that initial phase, the Town received $150,000 in energy incentives and realized approximately 740,000 kWh savings,...
Home Town Program funds Artful Caledon

The Frank Cowan Company Home Town Program, along with local broker Secure Insurance, is contributing $5,000 to Artful Caledon, a program that offers young artists the opportunity to create and display their works throughout the Caledon Public Library network.
