 What fitness activities are currently being offered?

The Fieldhouse workout area at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness is currently open and personal training is available.

Equipment use will be modified to ensure safety measures for users and staff. Available equipment includes, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, new weight machines, free weights and designated stretching zones.

 

The Southfields Community Centre fieldhouse will open for pre-registered appointments on September 21. 

Are fitness classes available?

Group fitness classes will be available as of September 28. Class schedules will be phased in and a limited number of classes per day, with reduced capacities. 

We will be adding classes in a phased approach to ensure your experience is as safe as possible.

Participation in Group Classes will require pre-registration.

What safety measures are being implemented?

To ensure the health and safety of everyone:

  • Masks are required when entering and exiting any facility
  • Directional signage to assist with traffic flow
  • Social distancing measures are in place, including the location of equipment
  • Pre-booking protocols limiting capacities and cash handling for staff
  • Advanced and increased frequency of disinfection and cleaning procedures
Can I walk in to come and work out?

All visits must be pre-booked online to limit the number of the people in the building and in the Fieldhouse. No spectators will be allowed.

How do I book a time?

Registration for all drop-in programs will be available 72 hours prior to the program start time. Check out our drop-in activities for registration.

Workouts will be limited to 90 minutes with designated time between to allow for proper sanitization. You may arrive at any point during your time slot, however must leave at the end of the pre-booked time in order to allow for sanitation before the next session. Equipment use will be modified to ensure safety measures for users and staff. Available equipment includes, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, new weight machines, free weights and designated stretching zones.

What can I expect on my first visit?

Mandatory screening will apply for all visitors before entering a town facility, along with details provided about specific entry and exit paths. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your visit.

You will enter the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness through the main entrance (west doors facing Hwy 50), complete the screening process and check in. Change rooms will be closed (washrooms are still available), so please change at home and arrive ready for your work out. You will be provided a tote bin to store your personal belongings on a shelf visible to you while you work out. Once your workout is complete, you will take your belongings and exit the building immediately through the south exit.

You will notice the floor equipment has been relocated or removed to allow for social distancing. Equipment that is hard to clean (i.e. foam rollers, yoga blocks, straps, ropes, etc.) has been removed.

Are masks required?

Face coverings are required in all public spaces in accordance with Town of Caledon By-law 2020-47. Members are asked to wear their mask upon entry and exit and as much as possible while in the facility. They can be removed during your workout and they are to be put back on immediately after finishing. 

Are change rooms available? 

Change rooms will be closed (washrooms are still available), please arrive ready to workout. Lockers are not available at this time. All your belongings will be stored in an unsecured tote bin that is in view of the fieldhouse.

Are water fountains available?

Water fountains are closed. Please bring your own water bottle as water filling stations are available.

Will you provide orientations?

Orientations will not be provided at this time. If you have specific questions, please speak with the Active Living Coordinator or Programmer at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness.

Can I work out if I am under 18 years old?

Anyone who is 17 years and younger must be workout with a parent/guardian 18 years of age or older unless they have had a previous youth orientation. New youth orientations are cancelled until further notice. 

 Select services and programs will resume based on direction from public health officials and when deemed safe to do so.  Online pre-registration is required for all programs and drop-in services.

Semi-private personal training

If you feel more comfortable working out with a gym buddy, consider taking our semi-private personal training classes. These classes are open to groups of two participants and cost the following rates:

  • 10 sessions cost $237.30 per person

Group training (Currently unavailable)

Our group training offers an instructor-led workout combined with group motivation and teamwork. These sessions are available for groups with a maximum of 15 participants.
