Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) program, developed in 2021, is an important resource to guide the Town’s efforts in fostering all cultures and communities that call Caledon home. This program provides us direction to respond to the changing needs, interests and demographics of our neighbourhoods and communities.

As our community grows, the Town of Caledon is taking action on social topics and demonstrating our awareness of important initiatives.

The Town’s first Staff-Led Diversity Equity and Inclusion Roundtable

Staff have initiated the Town’s first DEI Roundtable where staff are using lived experiences to inform our actions, and how we build a culture of inclusivity.

Endorsement of the Diversity and Inclusion Charter of Peel

The Town of Caledon has proudly endorsed the Diversity and Inclusion Charter of Peel.

The Town of Caledon is an active Employer Partner of the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion.

Are you an organizer of a local event of cultural significance? We’d like to hear from you. There are Town of Caledon financial programs to support event organizers.

Development of programs and protocols that support community events and dates of significance

The Town of Caledon is reimagining infrastructure available (street-side banners, flag poles, lights at facilities) as important resources to visibly acknowledge, celebrate or recognize events and dates of significance around our community.

Upcoming Town of Caledon workforce census

 The Town of Caledon will be initiating a project to examine the demographics of its workforce to support our work on the Diversity Equity and Inclusion program.
