 Frequently Asked Questions

What recreation programs are currently running?

We are offering modified drop-in programs at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and wellness. Current offerings are limited to low contact sports where social distancing is easily maintained and programs for participants that are within the same family bubble.

We are currently offering the following programs

  • Badminton
  • Pickleball
  • Basketball - family

Players must be part of the same family bubble in order to play together.

Childminding and Games and Activities (lounge programs) at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness are currently unavailable.

What safety measures are being implemented?

Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our participants and staff. These are some of the measures we are implementing with our programs:

  • Mask requirement until you are ready to enter the program area and immediately after you exit
  • Social distancing measures including directional signage
  • Pre-booking protocols limiting capacities and cash handling for staff
  • Increased cleaning of common touch points and equipment
  • Limited access to building amenities including closure of change rooms
When and how can I register for a drop-in activity?

Registration for all drop-in activities will be available to book 72 hours prior to the start time.  All registrations must be completed online. Check out what drop-in activities are available or contact us.

Can I walk in and participate?

All visits must be pre-booked online to limit the number of the people in the building and in the gymnasium. No drop-ins or spectators will be allowed.

What can I expect on my first visit?

You can expect to go through mandatory screening to enter the facility and to follow specific entry and exit paths that will help with directional flow. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your time slot.

Change rooms will be closed (washrooms are still available), please arrive ready for your program.

You will be asked to bring your belongings in the room and store them in the designated areas.

Are masks required?

Face coverings are required in all public spaces in accordance with Town of Caledon By-law 2020-47. They can be removed just before starting any sport programs and are to be put back on immediately after; masks are required in the Youth Lounge.

Are change rooms available?

Change rooms will be closed (washrooms are still available), please shower and change at home and arrive ready for your program. Lockers are not available at this time. You must bring all belongings in the gymnasium.

Can I use the water fountains?

Water fountains are closed. Please bring your own water bottle as water filling stations are available.

Can I bring my own equipment?

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own equipment as there is limited equipment available for use.

Why is there no group entry fee?

A group entry fee does not allow us to accurately track gathering size or individual information for contact tracing, therefore, each participant must register and pay individually.

Select services and programs will resume based on direction from public health officials and when deemed safe to do so.  Online pre-registration is required for all programs and drop-in services.
