A Public Meeting will be held to consider a proposal for an Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision applications. Your input and insight will inform and shape plans that meet the needs of our community.

How to participate

The Town of Caledon offers a hybrid meeting model with multiple ways for members of the public to participate and engage with Council.

Attend In-Person
Members of the public may attend a meeting in-person and provide verbal comments regarding a proposed application(s) or sit in the gallery to watch the meeting. Although registration is not mandatory, members of the public are encouraged to complete the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council.
Submit a Written Comment
Members of the public may submit a written comment regarding a proposed application(s) by completing the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council.
Participate Virtually
Members of the public are welcome to participate via telephone or video conference through WebEx upon request. In addition, members of the public can watch meetings through the live stream available on the Town's website.

Proposed Changes

The Town of Caledon received applications to amend the Town’s Official Plan and Zoning By-law to permit a residential development. An associated Draft Plan of Subdivision application was also submitted as part of the proposal. The applicant is seeking permissions to permit a total of 73 residential units comprising of 28 single detached dwellings, and 45 townhouse units. The proposal also includes one local road, and an open space block. Access to this development and an additional 8 lots are proposed immediately to the south through separate development applications submitted to the City of Brampton.

The applicant proposes to amend the Official Plan and the Zoning By-law to permit the development of single detached, townhouse and open space land uses. The associated Draft Plan of Subdivision application is required to facilitate the development to ensure Town and agency technical requirements are satisfied.

 Appeal Procedure
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Council of the Town of Caledon to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Clerk of the Town of Caledon before the proposed Official Plan Amendment adopted and/or the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Clerk of the Town of Caledon before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted and/or the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
