This is to inform you that the Town of Caledon has received an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment (Temporary Use). A Statutory Public Meeting will be held to provide those interested an opportunity to make representation with respect to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment application. Your input and insight will inform and shape plans that meet the needs of our community.

How to Participate

The Town of Caledon offers a Hybrid meeting model with multiple ways for members of the public to participate and engage with Council.

Attend In-Person
Members of the public may attend a meeting in-person and provide verbal comments regarding the proposed application or site in the gallery to watch the meeting. Although registration is not mandatory, members of the public are encouraged to complete the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council.
Submit Written Comments
Members of the public may submit written comments regarding the proposed application by completing the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council.
Virtually
Members of the public are welcome to participate via phone or WebEx Meeting upon request. In addition, members of the public can watch meetings through the live stream on the Town’s website.

Proposed Changes

The purpose of the proposed Zoning Bylaw Amendment (extension of a temporary use) is to permit the continued operation of an existing commercial nursery and garden supply center for a period of three (3) additional years.

Appeal Procedure

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Caledon to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
