Town of Caledon receives additional financial awards

The Town of Caledon recently received the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting (2017 Annual Report) and the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (2017 Financial Statements) for the sixth and seventh consecutive year, respectively. The awards are presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and were prepared by the Town to communicate the Town’s 2017 financials and achievements.

“These two additional awards, received after the GFOA’s independent review of the Town’s 2017 financial documents, reinforces the Town’s continued commitment to produce a well-organized and understandable annual financial report,” said Mike Galloway, Chief Administrative Officer, “the Town’s 2017 financial report goes beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and demonstrates an effort to clearly communicate the Town’s financial position to residents and businesses.”

Earlier this year, the GFOA also recognized the Town’s 2018 budget document with a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

The first meeting on the Town’s 2019 budget will be on Tuesday 18-December-2018 and information on the 2019 budget can be found at caledon.ca/budget.
