Town of Caledon Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy now available for review

April 15, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – The Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy for the Town of Caledon has been released and is now available for the public to review.

In 2023, the Town launched the Parks and Recreation Strategy project which included a survey that received almost 700 responses, a series of six community open houses and a phone survey to gather feedback from residents on what their ideas were for the future of parks and recreation in the Town of Caledon.

The draft strategy has established a vision, mission and guiding principles for the future of parks and recreation, covering Recreation Service Delivery; Programs and Services; Events and Culture; Indoor Facilities; and Outdoor Facilities.

"After months of gathering information and analyzing survey results, the Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy is now ready for the public to review,” said Catherine McLean, Commissioner of Community and Human Services. “This has been a long and challenging process, with what we think is a fantastic outcome – a fulsome vision for the future of parks and recreation in our community. I encourage residents to review the draft strategy and let us know their thoughts.”

The Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy is available for review on Have Your Say Caledon until May 10, 2024. Residents can review the draft strategy and let the Town know if we got it right. The final version of the strategy is expected to be presented to Council on June 25 for approval.
