UPDATE (December 22, 2020) – Following the provincial announcement on December 21, 2020, please see below for updated information about outdoor rinks and the library.


December 15, 2020 -- Further to the recent announcement by the Province of Ontario that the Region of Peel is in Lockdown (Grey) status, holiday hours of operation for the Town of Caledon look a little different this year. 


Town Hall will close for the holidays at noon on December 24 and resume appointments on January 4, 2021.  Please note: During regular business hours visitors to Town Hall must make an appointment in advance. To book an appointment please visit (an account is required). 


For an emergency, dial 9-1-1. Starting at noon on December 24 the administrative offices of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services at 6211 Old Church Road in Caledon East will close for the holidays and resume on January 4, 2021 for regular business at 8:30 a.m.  To book an appointment please visit (an account is required). 


The Provincial Offences Court offices in Caledon and Dufferin are closed to in-person services until further notice. If you have a question about a ticket, trial date or other court services, please visit for more information or contact us by phone or email (information listed below). Starting at noon on December 24 phone/email service will not be available, but will resume on January 4, 2021 at 8:30 a.m.


Recreation facilities are closed indefinitely but there are a number of family-friendly activities, programs and events available to help you “get active and stay safe!” 

  • Winterfest
    Celebrate all that winter has to offer, including the #CaledonLights competition and community ice rinks.
  • Recreation Programs
    Sign up for virtual or outdoor activities, including at-home activities, painting, snowshoeing, fitness and more!
  • Outdoor Rinks (new)
    A number of outdoor rinks are currently under construction throughout the Town and should be ready in the new year. Check for updates.


To visit the Animal Shelter an appointment is required. If you are looking to adopt a pet, please call 905-584-2272 x. 4698 to book an appointment.

  • December 24, 25, 26 and 27: CLOSED
  • December 28, 29, 30: open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • December 31, January 1, 2 and 3: CLOSED
  • January 4: regular hours resume

At present all library branches are offering contactless holds pickup (new). For more information about COVID-19 protocols and hours of operation, visit

  • January 1: CLOSED
