First Annual Caledon Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony to take place January 31, 2024

December 1, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – The Town of Caledon is thrilled to announce the first annual Caledon Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, taking place on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. at the Caledon East Community Complex (CECC) banquet hall.

Currently the Caledon Sports Hall of Fame (CSHOF) has one member, Jerry Callaghan, inducted in 2018. Plans to add inductees on an annual basis were set aside due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, Caledon will proudly induct eight new members (four athletes, three builders and one team) and open a dedicated space on the second floor of the CECC, where information on all the inductees will be available for visitors to appreciate for years to come.

“As Caledon continues to grow and transition to a single-tier municipality, it’s important that we not only embrace the future, but that we honour our past, and making inductions into the Caledon Sports Hall of Fame an annual tradition is a great way of ensuring we do that,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “These eight inductees represent a broad cross-section of sports history in our community, and I can’t wait to celebrate their inductions with them, their families and their friends in January.”
