Chance of snow? Street parking is a NO under the Town of Caledon’s Winter Parking Restrictions

November 15, 2022 – With winter weather starting to arrive, the Town of Caledon is reminding residents that winter parking restrictions are in effect from November 1 until April 30. During this time, there is no street parking permitted in Caledon when winter operations, such as salting or plowing, are taking place.

These restrictions assist the Town in maintaining over 1,600 km of local roads, while adhering to the Minimum Maintenance Standards as per the Municipal Act.

“Winter operations can include snow plowing, sanding as well as salting before and after a winter storm,” said Brian Baird, Director of Operations. “To effectively complete these operations, vehicles must be removed from the road, and any vehicles parking over a sidewalk must be removed as well. We hope citizens will help our team do their jobs to ensure clear roadways and sidewalks throughout the winter months.”

Parking on the street or blocking a sidewalk during winter operations can result in a $90 ticket, and having the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.
