Caledon hosts Municipal Election information session

April 8, 2022 – The Town of Caledon is launching an information session for potential candidates and third-party advertisers (those outside of the candidate’s campaign who express support of or opposition to candidates) in the upcoming 2022 Municipal and School Board Election.

Information session – April 22, 2022 at 5 p.m.

Potential 2022 Municipal and School Board Election candidates and third-party advertisers are invited to join the Town of Caledon at an information session on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m.

"The Town’s information session, hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, will provide a better understanding of what is required of potential candidates and third party advertisers if they choose to file their nomination in the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election,” said Laura Hall, Town Clerk and Returning Officer for 2022 Municipal and School Board Election. “We invite and encourage anyone interested in learning more to register and join us."

The information session will be hosted in a hybrid format offering both in-person and virtual participation. It will be held at Town Hall in the Council Chamber located at 6311 Old Church Road in Caledon East. The session will be streamed live from the Town’s website at caledon.ca/agenda.

The session will provide an overview of key requirements, including:

  • candidate and third-party advertiser eligibility and responsibilities;
  • nomination and registration process;
  • campaign finances and compliance audit;
  • voters list and voting proxy; and
  • key dates and resources.

Registration for the information session is encouraged.
