Caledon Animal Services launches local pet calendar in time for the howlidays

The first ever Town of Caledon Animal Services 2023 calendar is now on sale at Caledon’s Animal Shelter, Town Hall, Libraries, Recreation Centers and participating locations in the community for $20.

“How great to see Caledon’s pets featured in the Town’s new fundraising Calendar,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “A big thank you to our Animal Services team for their commitment to keeping pets safe, healthy and for championing responsible pet ownership. Thank you to all the Caledon residents that submitted photos of their pets!”

Residents were asked to submit photos of their pet with their name and community attached. Pets from communities across Caledon are featured as well as various kinds of pets. The calendar is meant to create awareness of Animal Services, provide information about health, safety and responsible pet ownership, and raise funds for the shelter.

“This new fundraising calendar will help support our shelter and programs immensely,” said Laura Hall Director Corporate Services/Town Clerk. “I thank the staff for their efforts to make the calendar available as a fundraiser for our shelter – it’s the pawfect gift this holiday season”

Proceeds from calendar sales will go directly toward the Caledon Animal Services Donation Fund to support current programs and services like:

  • veterinary care and specialized surgeries
  • purchase of medications
  • Provide items for enrichment and care
  • support spaying and neutering adoption animals
  • provide funds for specialized diets and care
  • promote awareness through education and outreach programs
  • make improvements to the shelter facility including animal housing

“We hope this calendar of local pets is enjoyed by residents, especially those who might receive one as a holiday gift, while raising funds for Caledon Animal Services,” said Brenda Dermott, Supervisor Animal Services. “We thank all who contributed photos and we do hope to offer a calendar in 2024 with more pets featured.”

We thank all who participated. Entries that were sent with consent forms can be viewed on Haveyoursay.ca.
