June 25, 2021 – On the occasion of Canadian Multiculturalism Day, the Town of Caledon issued the following statement:

“Multiculturalism Day is an opportunity for us to celebrate and bring together various cultures in our communities,” said Mayor Allan Thompson.  “I want to recognize and thank Regional Councillor Johanna Downey for championing this initiative here in Caledon.”

June 21, 2021 – The Town of Caledon issued the following statement from Mayor Allan Thompson:

The area that encompasses the Town of Caledon are the treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations. We honour and give respect to all indigenous people who have walked this land in the past and who walk it today.

On this National Indigenous Peoples Day, I believe that every level of government must commit to acknowledging and understanding the truths of our history so we can heal as a nation...

June 17, 2021 – The Town of Caledon today launched a new, mobile-friendly website – caledonbusiness.ca – dedicated to supporting both new investment and local business.

Caledon starts to re-open

June 9, 2021 – Following the June 7 provincial announcement, the Town of Caledon will be re-opening some facilities and amenities starting Monday June 14.

“This is a hopeful step towards recovery and renewal,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “I’d like to thank our health care and frontline heroes for the tremendous work they are doing…and thanks to everyone for continuing to be diligent. The more people we can get vaccinated, the sooner we can progress to the next stage.”

Mayor announces acting CAO for the Town

June 8, 2021 – “On behalf of the Town of Caledon and members of Council, I would like to share that CAO Carey Herd will be taking parental leave starting June 25, 2021 and will return March 2022.

I am pleased to announce Dan Labrecque will be serving as Acting Chief Administrative Officer for the duration of Carey’s parental leave.
