Regional Transition Process Overview

Tonight, in a Special Council meeting staff presented an overview of the regional transition process and Council approved a new capital project funded from the Tax Capital Contingency Reserve. The project will support Peel dissolution work and the retention of experts in legal, finance and analysis. This step will ensure Caledon is resourced to participate in the conversations and analysis that will shape Caledon as a single-tier municipality.

Added support for traffic safety

Council voted to provide additional funding for five radar units as part of the 2024 Caledon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) budget to improve traffic safety and calming in Caledon.

Official Plan Amendment Humber Station Village Lands

Tuesday October 10 at 9:30 a.m. Council held a special meeting and approved an amendment to the Town’s Official Plan to bring lands, into the Bolton Rural Service Centre, ahead of the overall Future Caledon Official Plan Review. The lands bounded by Healey Road, Humber Station Road, Mayfield Road and the current Bolton Rural Service Centre boundary were designated as New Employment Area and Highway 413 Transportation Corridor.

Extension to Interim Control By-law

Council approved a one-year extension to an interim bylaw (from October 18, 2022) that restricts use of land for aggregates. The extension is to give the Town time complete the Supplementary Aggregate Resources Policy Study. The bylaw does not prevent applications from being received by the Town. 2023-2035 Caledon Strategic Plan Approved

Council approved the 2023-235 Strategic Plan for Caledon. This plan was informed by residents and will shape Caledon for the next 12 years. It will guide Town priorities in future business plans and budgets.
