Town of Caledon’s online tree seedling store now open

2019 Tree Seedling Program

Caledon landowners and schools can now order trees through the Town’s 2019 Tree Seedling Program. The Tree Seedling Program provides purchasers with options to purchase potted trees and bundled seedlings. Since 2002, an estimated 179,512 trees have been distributed to Caledon landowners through this program.

“By making native trees and seedlings accessible to local landowners we are encouraging private reforestation efforts,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “Expanding Caledon’s tree cover is an action to reduce the local impacts of climate change by absorbing carbon from the atmosphere and improving local air quality.”

The following potted trees and bundled seedlings are available through the 2019 program:

  • Eight types of potted deciduous (hardwood) species include red oak, silver maple, sugar maple, red maple, white birch, black cherry, white oak and black walnut.
  • Three types of coniferous (softwood) seedling species include white cedar, white pine and white spruce. The minimum order is 1 bundle that contains 10 seedlings.
