Town of Caledon appoints New Chief Administrative Officer with a Vision for the Future

After a national search Mayor Allan Thompson, on behalf of Members of Council, is pleased to announce that Carey Herd is the new Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Caledon; unanimously appointed at a special Council meeting earlier today.

“Carey brings energy and an innovative, collaborative style to the role of CAO,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “She presents a citizen-centered vision for the future and Council is looking forward to working with her in realizing the tremendous potential of our community of communities.”

“I would like to thank Council for their confidence and entrusting me with leading our team in Caledon,” said Ms. Herd. “I am looking forward to working together with Council, staff and residents in shaping the future of the municipality.” 

Ms. Herd attended the University of Western Ontario and is a graduate of Queen’s University – Smith School of Business Queen’s Executive Program.  She is a member of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO), as well as the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA). Ms. Herd was previously in the role of General Manager, Corporate Services/Town Clerk for the Town of Caledon. She is a municipal expert with over 22 years of extensive experience in public service and provides valued insight into all aspects of municipal governance.
