Cheers Caledon! Caledon’s very first Craft Beer and Cider Festival

The Town of Caledon hosts its first ever ‘Cheers Caledon! Craft Beer and Cider Festival’ on June 16, 2017. Caledon’s rolling hills and surrounding areas are famous for farming, food artisans, and an emerging cider, beer, wine and spirits industry.

“Caledon is the place to be on Father’s Day weekend,” said Mayor Allan Thompson.  “Friday night we celebrate the best of Caledon at Cheers Caledon! with live performances and great food and drink, all with a made-local flair.  Then, on Saturday, we have our 10th annual Caledon Day free family festival with entertainment, kids’ activities, great food, and a spectacular fireworks finale.  Come, visit, stay, enjoy.”

Home-grown brewers Caledon Hills and GoodLot Farmstead, together with Caledon’s famous cider producers Pommies and Spirit Tree, will be joined by a growing list of food and drink vendors.

“It is important for us as a brewery to support festivals like Cheers Caledon and Caledon Day because this is our home and where we plan to grow our business,” said Master Brewer Stefan Reidelsheimer, founder of Caledon Hills Brewing Company.

Lindsay Sutcliffe, owner, Pommies Cider Co. added, "Being an active part of the community is very important for us. We live here, we work here and truthfully, we are happiest when we are drinking our cider here. We look forward to serving our products alongside our other Caledon producers and showing our community how good drinking local can be."

Along with amazing foods and drinks, the evening will include live music by DJ Puzzo, who will keep everyone entertained with Top 40’s music, and a live performance by New Hollywood, a local cover band. There is plenty of free parking available and free bike valet on site. Home James, Caledon’s community designated driver service, is only a phone call away. Call ahead to reserve a spot – if you’ve had something to drink, please don’t drive.

And, bring the kids; there’s plenty to keep them busy at Cheers Kids Night.  The Town’s summer camp counsellors are offering games, activities, movies and treats.

Cheers Caledon! coincides with Canada 150 celebrations and is part of the Caledon Day celebration. Caledon Day, held annually on Father’s Day weekend, attracts over 12,000 visitors and will feature Juno-award winners Sloan as the headline act on the Husky Main Stage.

Cheers Caledon! takes place on Friday June 16, 6-11 p.m. at Caledon’s Town Hall Campus in Caledon East. For more information, to buy tickets online or to register your children for Cheers Kids Night, visit cheerscaledon.ca.

Cheers to summer. Cheers to friends. Cheers Caledon!
