infractions

The Town of Caledon regulates traffic on roads within Caledon's jurisdiction to ensure the safe movement of traffic and pedestrians.  Caledon Parking Enforcement Officers and the Ontario Provincial Police enforce both the Town of Caledon By-law and the Region of Peel By-law. Below are the most common parking infractions, but we encourage you to review each By-law for full details.

1. Park in signed no park zone (click to view explanation)

You are not permitted to park a vehicle, even if it is occupied, at a no parking sign except temporarily for the purpose and actual engagement of loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. If an Officer finds the vehicle in a no parking area and does not observe ongoing loading or unloading, the Officer may issue a ticket.

2. Stop in signed no stop zone (click to view explanation)

This is one of the most restrictive signed parking violations. Drivers are not allowed to stop a vehicle at a no stopping sign even momentarily, such as for the loading or unloading of passengers or merchandise.

3. Park between the hours of 2am and 6am (click to view explanation)

There is no overnight parking allowed on town roads or in town owned faciility parking lots between the hours of 2:00 am to 6:00 am unless a valid parking pass has been issued.  There is no requirement for a sign specifying this to be visible at the parked location. Signs indicating this violation are placed at various major roadways at the entrance to the Town.
