A Penalty Notice is issued for local by-law violations.

What to do if you receive a Penalty Notice

 Take action
  1. Pay Early (within 15 days): 25% reduction
  2. Pay Regular (within 30 days): Full penalty amount
  3. Request a Screening Review (within 30 days)
  4. Request a Hearing Review (within 30 days of screening decision)

There is no cost to request a Screening Review or Hearing Review. Authorized representatives (such as a lawyer, paralegal or family member) may act on your behalf. Complete the Authorization to Act as an Agent Form in advance and submit it to amps@caledon.ca.

Payment Options
You can pay:
  • Online: Pay your penalty online at caledon.ca/amps 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Online payments will be subject to a processing fee.
  • By mail: Write the Penalty Notice number on the cheque or money order (payable to the Town of Caledon) and mail it to the below address. Note: Do not send cash in the mail. Allow sufficient mailing time.

  • In person: Visit Service Caledon at Town Hall (6311 Old Church Road). Open Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

 Tip: If you miss the deadline, the penalty is affirmed and becomes a debt to the Town.
