June is Seniors Month - a time to celebrate, connect and stay active in our community.

Community organiations and services across Caledon, in partnership with the Town, are offering a wide variety of events in celebration of Seniors Month. Residents aged 55+ are invited to take part in a full month of free programs and activities designed to support health, wellness, and social connection. From fitness and learning opportunitites to social events and community gatherings, there is something for everyone to enjoy. 

Still Life Drawing Workshop with Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) - June 1

Join the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) for a guided still life session. Featuring objects from the PAMA handling collection, participants will work directly from observation while experimenting with a variety of drawing techniques to create a mixed media still life.

Caledon Community Services (CCS) is a multi-service non-profit that supports the Town of Caledon through its three core pillars: HealthJobs, and Life. The agency provides essential health infrastructure, including the area’s only accessible transportation fleet, a specialist medical clinic, and 24/7 senior assisted living. Through The Exchange community hub and Jobs Caledon, CCS ensures local food security, newcomer settlement support, and free employment training for residents of all ages. All programs, including the Evolve Caledon social enterprise, are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, healthy, and independent community.

Navigating Ancestry's Database with Melissa J. Ellis and Caledon Public Library - June 4

Join Genealogist Melissa J. Ellis in this introduction workshop that navigates Ancestry’s Library Edition database. The workshop will take an in-depth look at using CPL's library’s Ancestry website for genealogical researching. There are difference in format from the Library Edition and a personal subscription of Ancestry. Melissa will demonstrate these differences and the results that will further our research and move us back in time.

Celebrate International Trails Day with Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club, Alton Grange Association and Caledon Public Library - June 6

Join Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club and Alton Grange Association for a Hike 101 featuring visual presentations, hiking tips, giveaways and guided nature hunt.

Special guest: Caledon author Nicola Ross. Learn about local trails and Canada's famous 900 km Bruce Trail.

The Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to building, maintaining, and protecting the Bruce Trail as it passes through the Caledon region, while promoting responsible outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship.

The Alton Grange Association is a community organization focused on preserving and animating the historic Alton Grange property as a cultural and gathering space, supporting local arts, heritage programming, and community events. Both organizations play an important role in fostering community engagement, protecting natural and cultural heritage, and providing opportunities for residents to connect with Caledon’s unique landscape and history.

Breath + Sound: A Guided Wellness Experience with FirstLight Home Care - June 8

This guided session combines breathwork (pranayama) and sound healing meditation to support stress management, emotional regulation, and overall relaxation. Participants will be guided through intentional breathing techniques followed by a restorative sound bath experience using healing vibrations. The session is designed to provide a moment of pause, helping individuals unwind, reset, and leave with practical self-care tools they can incorporate into daily life.

FirstLight Home Care provides personalized, non-medical in-home care for seniors, adults with disabilities, and those recovering from surgery. Services include personal care (bathing, hygiene, mobility) and companion care (meals, light housekeeping, transportation, errands). They focus on promoting independence and dignity in home settings, offering specialized dementia care and respite care for families. 

Senior Care Days with Hills of Headwaters Collaborative Ontario Health Team - June 9

Care Days are free events that bring many different health and social services together in one place. If you do not have a regular doctor or need help with things like housing, food access, mental health supports and more, you can stop by to talk to experts all at once. Everyone is welcome, no appointment is needed, and we are here to make sure you get the support you need in a safe and friendly way.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is observed annually on June 15 to raise awareness about the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older adults, promoting their rights to safety and dignity. Established in 2006 by the INPEA and recognized by the UN, the day features global events like workshops, purple-themed awareness campaigns, and educational initiatives.

Velocity

Continuing the tradition, Caledon Community Services will host Velocity, its annual cycling event, at Caledon East Park on Saturday, June 20, 2026. This event, aimed at raising funds to support Caledon Seniors, offers scenic rides suitable for the whole family, with four routes catering to various experience levels.

Seniors Month with Palgrave United Community Kitchen (PUCK) - June 23

Join the Buckstown Café, presented by Palgrave United Community Kitchen, for a welcoming morning of community, conversation, and refreshments featuring local, seasonal ingredients.

At approximately 11 a.m., Certified Forest Therapy Guide Janette Cridland of Forest Floor will introduce participants to the practice of forest therapy, including its growing recognition for health and wellness benefits through the national Park Prescription (PaRx) program. Those interested will then be invited to join a guided walk to Palgrave Pond, offering a chance to experience the natural surroundings in a more mindful, sensory-focused way.

Kusina and Karaoke with Caledon Meals on Wheels - June 25

Kusina and Karaoke is a joyful, Filipino-themed luncheon,  designed especially for seniors to connect and have fun together. “Kusina,” which means kitchen in Filipino, represents the heart of the gathering: delicious homemade dishes, warm flavours, and shared meals. “Karaoke” adds the sparkle, inviting guests to sing their favourite songs, laugh, and celebrate music in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

Caledon Meals on Wheels (CMOW) is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit agency established in 1984 that provides meal delivery services to seniors and indiviuduals with disabilities. They offer hot and frozen meals, as well as additional programs that focus on health and wellness.
