Logistics Land Use Strategy

The Town of Caledon is developing a Logistics Land Use Strategy (the “Strategy”) to provide strategic direction for how logistics and goods movement are considered in planning for Caledon’s future.

A draft Strategy has now been prepared to provide guidance for planning of logistics and goods movement related uses in Caledon, while protecting community character, natural heritage features, and the Town’s rural landscape.

Purpose of the Strategy

The Logistics Land Use Strategy is intended to help guide the integration of logistics and goods movement related land uses into Caledon’s long-term planning framework. The Strategy provides direction to:

  • Long-Term Planning: Help inform future updates to the Official Plan, Zoning By-law, and related planning tools.
  • Integrated Planning: Support coordination between land use planning and transportation planning to accommodate projected growth.
  • Coordinated Management: Support collaboration between municipal departments and external agencies involved in goods movement and land use planning.
  • Economic Vitality: Support logistics, agri-food, and employment uses while maintaining compatibility with surrounding communities and agricultural areas.
