Accessibility

Voting independently and privately is a critical element in the democratic process, so it is incumbent upon municipalities to remove barriers to participation in electing representatives.

The 2018 Municipal Election Accessibility Plan addresses the specific accessibility requirements in relation to the Town of Caledon's 2018 Municipal Election.

In an effort to ensure that the 2018 Municipal Election is consistent with core principles of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005) this planning document was developed in advance of the election in order to identify measures to be taken and reported following the election.

This Plan is an active document that will be improved and updated as best practices are identified and new opportunities for improvement arise.
