Transit Feasibility Study

The Study

The Caledon Transit Feasibility Study investigated the benefits and costs of providing public transit services within the Town of Caledon, to help meet the current and future needs of its residents, workers, visitors, and employers. The study developed and then was guided by a set of Vision, Goals, and Objectives that are consistent with the Town's wider plans.

The study also examined the existing and projected demographics and travel patterns within Caledon and reviewed transit provision in similar municipalities. From this, a set of potential service options were developed, evaluated and prioritized. The potential options were accompanied by a financial plan describing capital costs, operating costs, estimated farebox revenue, and municipal subsidy requirements for the proposed services.

The Study comprised extensive engagement with stakeholders and the general public at key points in the study, including telephone, online surveys as well as public information centres (PICs).
